I got a little impatient waiting for some local Waxwings the other weekend so after a productive trip up to Sleddale with my daughter, we took a circular route back to Thirsk via Kirkbymoorside where some waxwings had been reported on Birdguides. Add a little sunshine into the mix and here are the results:
More seem to be appearing closer now with reports in Middlesbrough and Strensall today.
Some good images of the waxwings. We caught up with a flock of over 20 near Kildale, on the road to Sleddale today along the railway line but didn't get any decent shots as it was late in the day.
I get out and about mainly in Yorkshire, Cleveland and Bedfordshire.
I photograph/digiscope birds, bugs, mammals and flowers with variable success. I am a member of RSPB, BTO, Teesmouth Bird Club, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and Butterfly Conservation.
