Well it looks like that Harlequin Duck that travelled down from Iceland on a magic carpet of volcanic ash was actually a female Common or Velvet Scoter...
Anyway, still had a great sunny day at Flamborough and Bempton and a few year ticks in the form of Kittiwake, Gannet, Puffin, Razorbill and Guillemot.
I get out and about mainly in Yorkshire, Cleveland and Bedfordshire.
I photograph/digiscope birds, bugs, mammals and flowers with variable success. I am a member of RSPB, BTO, Teesmouth Bird Club, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and Butterfly Conservation.
We went to Bempton last Sunday and had a good day there too.
ReplyDeleteGoing back there tomorrow, but probably more time at Flamborough.
